OVERVIEW OF PREGNANT WOMEN'S KNOWLEDGE LEVEL REGARDING PREGNANCY DANGER SIGNS AT TK III DR R SOEHARSONO HOSPITAL, BANJARMASIN
Abstract
Maternal mortality remains high in Indonesia, with a rate of 305 per 100,000 live births. Approximately 162,000 women die each year due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth, including delayed recognition of pregnancy danger signs. This study aims to determine the knowledge level of pregnant women regarding pregnancy danger signs. Maternal deaths in Indonesia can be attributed to two main factors: direct causes, such as complications during pregnancy, delivery, and cesarean section, as well as indirect causes like abortions. This research provides an overview of pregnant women's knowledge level regarding pregnancy danger signs at TK III DR R Soeharsono Hospital in Banjarmasin. The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional design, with a sample size of 30 respondents who completed a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis.
The findings revealed the knowledge level of the respondents regarding pregnancy danger signs. Most of the respondents had a moderate level of knowledge about pregnancy danger signs, with the majority only able to mention 1-2 danger signs.
